ROSEN ENTERPRISES

Free Access

Hello. I am Judith Rosen and you have reached the "Free Access" page of my website. I have chosen to make the scientific work of my father, Dr. Robert Rosen, available, free of charge, to anyone who is interested in reading it. I have one stipulation to make, which-- by downloading the work-- you will be agreeing to:

IF my father's work helps you to create work of your own that generates income, you will owe me a percentage of that income. I will leave it to the conscience of the individual to decide what that percentage ought to be, as I think it will be different based on how important Robert Rosen's work was in the creation of your own. I cannot enforce this agreement, of course, but you will know that by downloading his work, you have entered into this agreement with me, and I trust that your conscience will remember it. Robert Rosen had grandchildren; if his work generates wealth for others, it seems only fair and just that some portion of that income goes toward supporting his own grandchildrens' college education, etc.

R.Rosen: "AutoBiographical Reminiscences"

This is the only autobiographical paper he ever wrote and it made him uncomfortable for a number of reasons, some of which he discusses in the paper itself. He wrote it because he was asked to contribute an autobiographical piece for an anniversary issue of some scientific journal or other. As such, this is "skewed" for a science audience and leaves out most of the personal information that he assumed would be extraneous for that context. Even so, this is an important document because it describes, in his own words, what his scientific curiosities were, his thought process, his mistakes, his experiences, and his intentions. It is an accurate glimpse (albeit a limited one) into the mind of my father, Robert Rosen.

The following papers (as PDF's) were all written during Robert Rosen's time as a Visiting Fellow at Robert Hutchins' "Center For the Study of Democratic Institutions"

R. Rosen: "A Further Thought On Beyond Freedom and Dignity"

R. Rosen: "Biological Systems As Paradigms For Adaptation"

R. Rosen: "Structural and Functional Considerations in Modeling of Biolgical Systems"

R. Rosen: "The Polarity Between Structure and Function"

R. Rosen: "On the Identification of User Groups for Socio-Economic Control Models"

The next paper is a requiem for Dr. Nicolas Rashevsky, my father's PhD advisor, mentor, and friend:
