Hello again!
After a LOOOOoooooong interval, the Rosen Enterprises website is back up and running. I offer my apologies for the fact that it took me so long. As I have previously stated, many times, I do not have the kind of mind that easily "speaks" digital languages. For me, drawing a diagonal line across a page involves doing just that. On a webpage, it's (apparently) damn near impossible to draw a diagonal line to bisect content. Why? Hell if I know! Now that I think about it, I could ask some of my computer-geek friends if they know why-- and I will. (If the reader knows the reasons why, please get in touch!)
Curiosity is as it ever was. Just one of many character traits I had in common with my father (Robert Rosen). There may not be a genetic "one-to-one mapping" for it, but I'm sure there are a plethora of Rosennean nature/nurture relations which are responsible for my boundless desire to understand the why of things. Learning new things is one of my definitions of FUN. Coming across a word in my native language that I've never seen before is cause for excitement. There's a rush of serotonin involved in finding out what the word means, what it's derivation is, how to use it. One of the more entertaining words I discovered while my website was in mothballs was "absquatulate". It means: to pick up and move, rather abruptly-- which is essentially what I did with regards to my previous web-hosting company, and the reason the site went down for reorganization! The military analogy would be to "bug out". Here's a link to further info about it: http://www.worldwidewords.org/weirdwords/ww-abs1.htm
One of my favorite things about the internet is Google. Specifically, the ability to ask ANY question, whatsoever, and generally be able to find out the answer to it, or at least what the status is in current research... that capacity alone has probably saved me from serious chronic brain atrophy after my father died (because I no longer had access to his mind). Google is the gateway to the collective online knowledge and experience of millions of people. Surfing that knowledge and experience, either in the form of prose, pictures, art, video, music, voice... or in the form of meeting and talking to new people online who know something I want to learn... Google is the gateway. I recently found a website that is just so cool, it's worth sharing. It's at www.spaceweather.com. The photographs at that site, and the wealth of information about everything from auroras to polarity of the electromagnetic fields of the Earth and sun.... and what happens when they reverse their polarity, as both are predicted to do within my lifetime; such amazing, incredible stuff! Be prepared to spend many happy hours at that site if you are a curious soul, like me.
It's good to be back up with the Rosen Enterprises website. It looks like crap right now-- I know. But I'm not going to let it stay like that. Time just seems to move at different rates, depending on how I am interacting with it at any given stretch of it, so..... don't expect immediate results. But nothing remains the same... so, my model predicts that it is inevitable-- this also will change.
Cheers,
Judith
